Announcing a new partnership with D2Type Health
Kelowna, BC — March 17, 2026
The JP Centre is partnering with D2Type Health to test a new digital tool designed to support adults living with pre‑diabetes and Type 2 diabetes across the Interior.
The project will implement the D2Type Health app in five to six Interior Health community and primary care clinics, including urban, rural, and remote settings, reaching up to 300 participants. It is funded with $850,000 through the Province of British Columbia’s Integrated Marketplace program, delivered by Innovate BC, with Interior Health Authority participating as an Adoption Observer.
Supporting care between visits
The D2Type Health app helps people track everyday habits that influence their health—such as food, activity, sleep, and mood—while giving care teams visibility into patient progress between appointments. This supports more proactive, coordinated care, particularly in communities where access to regular care can be challenging.

From testing to real-world application
The JP Centre will coordinate the project, lead evaluation, and bring partners together to understand what works in practice—across different care settings and communities.

“Together with D2Type and with Interior Health observing the test implementation, we’re generating the real-world evidence needed to guide responsible scale up across the Interior.”
