A Vision Rooted in Philanthropy.

The Jim Pattison Centre for Health Systems Learning + Innovation was established through a transformative $5 million leadership gift from the Jim Pattison Foundation, in collaboration with the KGH Foundation and Interior Health. This shared commitment laid the groundwork for a first-of-its-kind Centre focused on advancing rural, community-based, and technology-enabled health care.

Fueled by Philanthropy

The Centre was founded through philanthropy and continues to be fueled by it. Projects are made possible by the generosity of donors and the shared support of foundations throughout the Interior Health region. These partnerships turn ideas into action, driving solutions that directly impact patient care, access, and equity.

Regional Impact, Local Relevance

Though based at Kelowna General Hospital, the Centre is designed to serve the entire Southern Interior region. Our projects are community-informed, equity-driven, and grounded in local realities—whether in rural clinics, Indigenous health centres, or urban hospitals. Innovation through the Centre is accessible to all, not just those within city limits.
